Hugh Richard Palmer, 75, of Vienna, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. He was born November 16, 1942, on the family farm in Taberg, the son of the late Charles C. and Amber Greggains Palmer.
Hugh was a graduate of Camden High School, Class of 1961. Following graduation, Hugh worked at Revere Copper and Brass Co. his entire career. After retiring, he wintered in Palm Bay, FL, traveling back and forth with his dog Rob Roy and his bird Bobbi. Because of his love of horses, Hugh and his brother Tom ran Palmer's Horse Farm for many years.
He is survived by: three brothers, Emery (Ruth) Palmer of Charlotte, NC, Paul Palmer of Montgomery, TX and Alan (Ethel) Palmer of Vienna; a sister, Ann Britton of Rensselaer, NY; a sister-in-law, Joan Palmer of Taberg; and several nieces and nephews. Hugh was predeceased by: two brothers, Cliff and Tom Palmer; sister-in-law, Eunice Palmer; brother-in-law, William H. Britton.
Hugh's family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care for their wonderful care and compassion.
Private graveside services will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Hugh's memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413.
