Diane L. Heburn, 59, of Floyd, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. She was born in Rome on September 5, 1958, the daughter of Francis and Shirley Kotary Hammon. She was a 1976 graduate of Holland Patent High School and went on to earn multiple Associate Degrees at Mohawk Valley Community College. On November 8, 1980, she was united in marriage to Timothy Heburn.
Diane was a Teacher's Assistant in the Rome City School District for several years. Previously, she worked at Broad Acres and the St. Luke's Home as a CNA for 20 years. She was also the Treasurer of the Floyd Cemetery for over 20 years and an active member of the Leon Roberts Post American Legion Ladies Auxiliary for many years.
Diane was a communicant at St. Leo's Church in Holland Patent.
She enjoyed watching sports and could always be seen in the stands cheering on her family and friends, both as players and officials. She really loved music, especially Neil Diamond.
Diane loved to spend time and be with family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving besides her loving husband of 38 years, Tim, are: her mother, Shirley Plourde of Floyd; two sons, Timothy Jr of Utica and Ted of Floyd; a sister, Robin Carney of Yorkville; three brothers, John Hammon of Floyd, Raymond (Susan) Hammon of Las Vegas, Michael (Jeanette) Hammon of Delaware; four precious grandchildren, Nevaeh, Madeline, Camilla and Aiden; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by: her father, Francis Hammon; a sister, JoAnn Hammon; and her second father, Thomas Plourde.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:00AM at St. Leo's Church in Holland Patent. Interment will take place in Floyd Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4-7:00PM at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Diane's memory may be made to the Floyd Cemetery or the Leon Roberts Post Ladies Auxiliary.
