Corinne L. Smith, 28, of Huntsville, AL, and formerly of Oneida, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. She was born July 22, 1987 in Fredericksburg, VA the daughter of Richard and MaryAnn Drewnowski Smith. She was Class President and President of Teens for a Better World of 2005 Graduating Class at Oneida High School. She went on to attend SUNY-Oswego and Nazareth College, studying wellness management and social work She was currently working as a waitress at Baumhower's Wings in Huntsville. . She was a hard worker, always doing her best at what she set out to do and this put her in leadership positions in school and the community. Anyone who knew her liked her. She was full of life and compassion. She enjoyed helping others and her smile and laugh were contagious. Corinne is survived by her parents, Richard and MaryAnn of Oneida; her brother, Shane Smith of Oneida; her boyfriend, Cameron Benefield of Huntsville, AL; her aunts and uncles, Sharon Smith of Rome, Jaqueline Libertino of Locust Grove, Va, Kathryn (Robert) Tuthill of Lee Center; Lorraine (David) Cimpi of Oneida, Abigail Smith of Rome, Tricia (Richard) Hladun of Floyd, John (Glenda) Smith of Glenn's Falls, Patrick (Sharon) Smith of Rome, Michael (Judy) Smith of Rome; Brian (Phong) Smith of Ithaca, Terry Aikens of Rome, Jodi (Pete) Sharpe of Rome, Carol Drewnowski of Huntsville, AL with whom Corinne resided, Chris Drewnowski of Corning, NY, Doug (Patty) Drewnowski of Carey, NC, and Jeannine (Jeff) Rose of Lee Center; several cousins; and her beloved cat, Ziggy. She was predeceased by her beloved grandparents, Lorraine and John Smith and John and Jeannine Drewnowski; and a special aunt and uncle, Mary Jane Aikens and John Drewnowski. Corinne's family would like to thank all of her friends at NA of Huntsville, AL and especially her aunt Carol Drewnowski, for their wonderful support. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life, to be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 11:00am at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Corinne's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
