Shirley A. Treen, 80, of Camden, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at St. Elizabeth’s Healthcare in Utica. Born in Oneida on December 13, 1938, she was the daughter of Herbert and Dorothy (LaBarr) Taylor. She was a graduate of Camden High School and on December 14, 1958 she was united in marriage to Martin C. Treen. He passed away on November 11, 2018.
Shirley worked for many years at Oneida National Savings Bank in Camden before retiring from Fleet Bank. She loved to crochet. She also enjoyed gardening, camping with her family and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia C. Sawyer and her husband, Larry, of Camden; two sons, Phillip R. Treen and his companion, Ann Washeleski of Cleveland and Mitchell J. Treen and his companion, Cindy Shaw; a sister, Beverly Jean (Elwood) Miller; two grandchildren, Shawn Carl and Shiann Faye Sawyer; a sister-in-law, Alice Taylor; longtime special friend, Jane Brooks of Manlius; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert J. Taylor.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Flats Cemetery in Cleveland. There no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shirley’s memory may be made to the Maple Flats Cemetery Ladies Auxiliary, c/o Patty Kieffer, 9701 Mill Rd, Camden NY 13316.
