Margaret A. Silverman 75, formerly of Rome, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 28, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on June 18, 1944, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late William and Antonina Enty. Margaret graduated from the Faxton College of Nursing and worked as a Psychiatric Nurse at Marcy Psychiatric Center, Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center and was last employed at Rome Clinic. On August 18, 1976, she married George Silverman. Margaret is survived by her step-sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Judith Silverman, of Whitesboro and Michael and Mackenzie , of Virginia; her step-daughter and son-in-law, Roseanne and Mitchell Witonsky, of Utica; her brother James Enty and her grandchildren, Nathaniel Silverman, Rachel Silverman, Sarah Witonsky, Ian Witonsky and Emily Silverman; She was predeceased by her parents and her husband George. Peggy’s family extends its heartfelt thanks to the staff on the Bryant wing of Katherine Luther home for their years of compassionate care as well as the medical staff at St Lukes Hospital. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Remembrances in Peggy’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and the Shriner’s Hospital.
