Obituary of Clara Tytul

Clara M. Tytul of Rome passed away peacefully on December 9, 2017 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Utica on June 5, 1922, the daughter of the late Theodore G. and Helen Kasprzyk Baranowski.

She attended Utica Schools as well as the Utica School of Commerce. She retired in 1982 from the RADC at Griffiss Air Force Base as Program Clerical Assistant.

Clara was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and she will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and outgoing personality. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and sharing special moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Clara is survived by her husband, Michael J. Tytul, whom she married in 1955 and shared a loving relationship for 62 years. She also leaves behind her loving children, Joanne Tytul Townsend and her husband, Brian, and her son Michael E. Tytul.

She will always be remembered for her devotion to her family and grandchildren: Keri Townsend Citriniti and her husband, John; Brian Townsend Jr. and his wife, Ashley; Laci Townsend and Scott Townsend.

Clara also leaves her adorable great-grandchildren: Gionni, Rocco, Charlie, Parker, Spencer, Alyssa, Ethan, and Claire.

She was predeceased by her loving twin sister, Stella Fritz, and her brother, Edward T. Baranowski.

Clara's family would like to thank the wonderful Drs., nurses, and staff at Bethany Gardens for their outstanding care and compassion during her time there.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 PM at St. Peter's Church with the Rev. Philip Hearn officiating. Interment will take place in Rome Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Wednesday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Clara's memory may be made to the Bethany Gardens Activities Fund.
