Obituary of Joyce Cadrette
Joyce E. Cadrette, 74, of Rome, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at SUNY-Upstate Hospital in Syracuse. She was born in Rome on March 11, 1943 the daughter of the late Kenneth and Geraldine Gubbins Freson. She was a 1962 graduate of Rome Free Academy. On August 25, 1962 she married the love of her life, Wayne Cadrette.
Joyce worked at Rome Memorial Hospital for several years and was a parishioner at St. Peter's Church.
Joyce enjoyed reading a good book but her family and her faith were the most important things in her life.
Surviving besides her loving husband, Wayne, are: three daughters, Joan Sherwood of Rome, Michelle Cadrette of Rome and Christine (Michael) Thurston of Rome; a son, Wayne (Deneen) Cadrette of Lee Center; a sister, Carol (Al) Burton of Texas; a brother, Kenneth (Terri) Freson of Hudson, NY; eight grandchildren, Patrick, Angela, Kayla, Emily, Alyssa, Nicholas, Katelynn and Madison; a great-granddaughter, Jaleasa; her longtime loving friend, Adele Groff; and her faithful canine companion, Daisey. She was predeased by: a sister, Mary Lou Remine; and a brother, Gregory Freson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00AM with the Rev. Philip Hearn officiating. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Monday from 4-7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joyce's memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
