Obituary of Bertha Lombardi
Bertha Mae (Walker) Lombardi, 88, of Camden, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Rome Memorial Hospital Residential Healthcare Facility. She was born in Camden on February 24, 1930, the daughter of the late Elmer and Estella (Howard) Walker. On October 8, 1955 she was united in marriage to Salvatore A. Lombardi. He passed away on July 6, 2005.
Bertha was a stay at home mom. She was a member of the Orangetown Fire Company #1 Ladies Auxiliary of Nyack, NY, for many years. She loved playing BINGO and going to yard sales.
She is survived by: a daughter, Brenda Conklin of Monroe, NY; a son and daughter-in-law, Salvatore "Bill" and Connie Lombardi of Camden; two grandsons, Michael and William Conklin III; her beloved aunt, Charlotte Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews.
Bertha's family would like to thank the nurses and aides of the Rome Memorial Hospital Residential Healthcare Facility for all the love, care and devotion shown to her during her time there.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bertha's memory may be made to the Camden Fire Department, Town of Camden Ambulance or the Rome Memorial Hospital Residential Healthcare Facility activities fund.
