Obituary of Shirley Vandall

Shirley A. Vandall, 73, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018. She was born in Rome on February 25, 1945, the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Underwood) Chapple. On August 28, 1965, she married Zane O. Vandall.

Shirley worked for the Rome City School District as a crossing guard and cafeteria aide for many years.

She was a member of the Salvation Army Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Henry P. Smith Post American Legion.

Surviving besides her husband, Zane, are: a son, Ronald J. Wood of Rome; five sisters, Anna Wright, Cindy Coffin, Henrietta (Christopher) Marsh, Roxanne (Tom) Muscarello, and Wendy Chapple, all of Rome; two brothers, Roger (Krista) Chapple and Walter Chapple of Rome; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by: two sisters, Lorraine Chapple and Susie Greene; and three brothers, Floyd, Henry and Roland Chapple.

Graveside services at Lee State Road Cemetery will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours.
