Obituary of Michael J. Fuller

Michael John Fuller 54, of Boston MA, formerly of Rome, NY passed away peacefully on June 28, 2020 with his loving family by his side. Michael was born in Syracuse NY, a son of Margaret and the late Terrance Fuller. He attended Rome Schools and joined the NAVY after high school. He enjoyed doing construction work and painting. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching the NY Yankees and NY Giants. Michael had a love for German Shepherds and had a tattoo of his beloved GSD Fritz on his back. Michael had a traumatic brain injury in 2000 but recovered well with much perseverance and resilience. In 2004 he moved to Boston and lived with other young people with TBI’s. He excelled there and made many friends. His best friend Corey was also his roommate for 16 years. He also became good friends with David and Jada who are employees of Care-One at Randolph. They both made Michael’s last 6 months very special for him. Michael loved coming home for the holidays and especially loved celebrating his birthday. He was always grateful and accepting of everything that came his way in life. Even when he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, he didn’t let it get him down. His love for life and will to fight was extraordinary and inspiring to many. Michael was very close to his parents and all of his siblings. Michael is survived by his mom, Peg Fuller of Rome; brother and sister-in-law Mark and Denise Fuller of Buffalo; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Theresa and Mike Clarke of Morrisville NY and Lisa and Tim Broadbent of Clinton NY; eight nephews Cass, Bradley, Joel, Matthew, Johnathan, Jayson, Tristan, Declan; and two nieces Savannah and Jessica. He loved being an uncle and bragged about them all. Michael will be missed immensely by his family. A special thanks to St Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boston for saving Michael’s life, Oneida Healthcare for their compassionate comfort care, Nascentia Healthcare staff and Dr. Robert Curtis Mills who helped us care for Michael in our home.
