Thelma R. (Paquette) Storey, 94, of Westmoreland, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the Abraham House of Rome with her loving daughters by her side. She was born in Long Lake, NY, on August 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Hector and Helen Paquette. She was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and married the late Harold Storey on November 22, 1947. Thelma was the Town Clerk for the Town of Westmoreland for 30 years. She also worked at General Electric and owned and operated a hardware store with her husband for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Stars for over 70 years. Thelma is survived by two daughters, Jackie Van Dreason (Barry) and Sally Farrow (Jim Trombino); a sister, Katherine Lauterbach; a brother, Ernie Paquette; three grandchildren, Barry Van Dreason Jr. (Bonnie), Christie Andrews (Matt) and Brett Farrow (Kelly); six great-grandchildren, Connor, Blake, Brady, Brooke, Evelyn and Sophia; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Storey; and a son, Ronnie Storey. Thelma’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staffs at both Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare., Hospice and Palliative Care and the Abraham House of Rome for their wonderful care and compassion. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Interment will take place in Westmoreland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Thelma’s memory to the Abraham House of Rome, 417 N. Washington St., Rome NY 13440, Hospice and Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413 or the local food pantry of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. 418 N. George St. Rome.
