Obituary of Brian A. Boardman, Sr.

Brian A. Boardman, Sr., 70, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Rome on April 1, 1951, he was a son of the late Dr. Don Boardman II and his wife Eileen Graves. He was a graduate of Rome Catholic High School and attended Cornell University. On June 10, 1978, he was united in marriage to his beloved wife Anna Pollio.
Brian proudly worked and retired as Lieutenant of NYS Department of Corrections.
He loved to pass on the stories of moments in life that meant the most to him and share his experiences with his loved ones, family, and friends. These memories included everything from being the lead singer and guitarist in a rock and roll band to raising his family in the countryside. He also loved to spend time at the lake with his family and enjoyed making lasting memories of happiness.
Brian is survived by his loving wife, Anna, and his children Crystal Wright, her husband George, Ann Marie Boardman, Brian Boardman Jr., his wife Meredith, Louis Boardman, Tyler Boardman and Joey Spencer; three sisters, Patricia Carrier, her husband Chris, Eileen Jannone, her husband Dennis, Lorraine Roberts, her husband Mark; and a brother, Don Boardman III, his wife Linda; and thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 31st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church. Interment will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery in the spring. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Sunday, January 30th from 2-4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Brian’s memory to the Anita’s Steven Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St., Utica NY 13502.
