Obituary of Victoria Ciszek

Victoria Filippini Uhl Ciszek, 88, of Rome, NY passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, with her granddaughter by her side. Born January 27, 1934, in Rome, a daughter of the late Vittorio and Mary Pardi Filippini. She was raised and educated in Rome. She graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1951.
Victoria was first married to Francis Uhl from 1952-68. They shared three children, David, Karyn and Edward. After her divorce she married Edward Ciszek in 1972. They spent 19 wonderful years together before he passed away in 1991. Victoria owned Da-Vic Kennels where she groomed and boarded dogs. She raised her granddaughter Amanda from the age of seven and they shared a very special bond.
Vicky loved her family dearly, enjoyed Sunday dinners with her grandchildren and grandpups. She liked gardening and was a former member of the Fort Stanwix Gardening Club. She was also a member of St. Mary’s/St. Peter’s Church and Ava Dorfman Senior Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Karyn Lemon (Mike) of Mt. Lake Terrace, WA; three grandchildren, Josh Witt (Kristina) of San Antonio, TX, Alexis Witt of Seattle, WA, and Amanda East (Michael) of Rome; two cherished great-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Branden East of Rome; and three nephews, Michael, Greg and Paul Stoklos. She was predeceased by her two sons, David and Edward Uhl, her sister, Eleanor Stoklos, and a niece, Nadine Stoklos.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 5th at 2:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday prior to the service from 12-2:00 p.m.
