
Obituary of Rocco DeBlasiis
In loving memory, Rocco DeBlasiis born in Melizzano, Italy, son of the late Filandro and Sofia DeBlasiis, passed away on September 14, 2022, at age 61. This gentle giant, loving teddy bear of a man, with a smile and laughter that would light up the room, was a mellow man that loved his family with all his heart and would do anything in the world for them if he could. He loved fishing with his sons, grandsons and brothers, and even taught his daughters and granddaughters. He enjoyed playing pool and competed in many pool tournaments around Rome, years ago. He loved football and race horses and never turned down a good game of family bocce.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Barbara DeBlasiis. His brothers, Amadeo DeBlasiis and Gino DeBlasiis. His sisters Assunta DiCastro (Carlo), Elvita Palmisano (Ricky) His sons, Rocco and Santino DeBlasiis along with his devoted nephew Andrew DeBlasiis. His daughters Rheta West, Anna West (Eric Matt), Theresa West ("DJ" David Shelley). His grandchildren, Michelle (Marcus), Deanna, Austin, Natalie, Evan, Rocco, Olindo, Chloie, Quinton. His many nieces and nephews. All his special cousins in Gloversville, Rochester, and Italy. All his loving family in Texas, Florida, Colorado, Alabama, North Carolina and Indonesia.
He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Rizio, his beloved sister-in law, Nikki DeBlasiis, his nephew Freddie Rizio, his niece Jessica DeBlasiis, and his cousin Salvatore Zarelli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 20th at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick St., Rome NY 13440. There are no calling hours.
