Obituary of Jean Woodard
Harriet Jean Woodard, 93, of Blossvale, passed into God's hands with her loving family by her side. Born in Gouverneur, NY, on September 22, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Delbert and Melva (Simmons) Huckle. On June 29, 1957, she was united in marriage to Charles Woodard. He passed away on June 26, 2003.
Jean received her beautician's license after attending Culver Cosmetology School in Rochester, NY, and kept up her license right up until a few years ago.
She was an active member of the Taberg United Methodist Church and Lee Center Methodist Church, where her son Brian Woodard, is the Pastor.
Jean was the proud mother of four children, whom she is survived by three daughters, Heidi Robinson (Michael) of Liverpool, NY, Robin DiMezzo (Craig) of Canastota, NY, and Kim Woodard, with whom she lived; a son, Brian Woodard (Patty) of Taberg, NY; four grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Tracy DiMezzo (Gary), Brandie Getek (Greg), Joshua Woodard (Tonya) and Taylor Robinson; five great-grandsons and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three sisters, Helen Smith, Gartha Youngs and Linda Worden.
Jean had many special friends in her life, especially the "Tea Time Girls", her call me at 3 a.m. buddy and she ran the Woodard Learning Library with a dedicated Debbie Macomber section.
Jean's family would like to thank the nurses and support staff of the 5th Floor of Oneida Health and Rehabilitation and Extended Care Center.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 7th at 5:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden, NY 13316. Interment will take place in Rome Cemetery on Saturday, October 8th at 10:30 a.m.. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday prior to the service from 2-5:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jean's memory to the Lee Methodist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Foundation.
